Software Development Intern | Sandhills Global
The Tone:
This is an internship at Sandhills Global, located in our local office. Sandhills Global builds industry-leading software, specifically web-based, data-driven applications that improve operational efficiency, develop services for customers, and power public websites used by millions monthly. As a Software Development Intern, you will learn modern tools and technologies, engage in comprehensive developer training, and then contribute to real-world software development within an agile team. This role is crucial for developing future talent and contributing to the company’s continuous innovation in the Microsoft ecosystem.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, local office
• Pay: $25 hourly
• Team: Initially in developer training department, then embedded within an agile team
• Mission: Develop real-world software to improve operational efficiency, create customer services, or enhance public websites.
• Tech Stack: .NET, SQL Server, Web APIs, javascript, jQuery, React.js, C# (primary), VB (for mature systems). Smaller areas also utilize PHP, Swift, Objective C, and Java.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Train: Learn modern tools and technologies through a series of tasks designed to familiarize you with company processes, procedures, and tech stack.
• Collaborate: Participate in a highly collaborative agile team environment to develop real-world software applications.
• Develop: Contribute to projects that improve operational efficiency, build services for customers, or enhance public websites visited by millions.
• Apply Skills: Utilize newly acquired training and skills as part of a development team, addressing specific project needs.
• Maintain: Assist in maintaining existing mature systems primarily written in VB, ensuring their continued functionality.

• Background: Entry-Level, with a foundational understanding of software development principles.
• Experience: Stable and progressive work history demonstrating responsibility and growth.
