This is a Legal Intern position at Ventra Health, supporting the in-house corporate legal department primarily remotely, with some limited in-office time potentially required and a preference for candidates who can align with West Coast hours. Ventra Health is a leading business solutions provider focused on Revenue Cycle Management for facility-based physicians across specialties like anesthesia and radiology. • Mission: To assist Ventra’s corporate legal department with contract management, compliance activities, and legal research to support the company’s business solutions for healthcare providers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract Management: Review, draft, and accurately log customer and vendor agreements.
• Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various healthcare and compliance topics to inform departmental projects.
• Corporate Compliance: Assist with general corporate maintenance, including managing state filings and business licenses.
• Document Organization: Review, organize, and track various consent documents to ensure proper record-keeping.
• Legal Drafting: Draft legal correspondence and reports as required by the legal department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current second or third-year student pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law program, holding a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: No specific prior experience is required for this role.
• Skills:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Westlaw for legal research and document preparation.
* Ability to interpret and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and policies relevant to legal and compliance matters.
* Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective legal correspondence and team interaction.
* Strong judgment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to address legal challenges.
* Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and time management for managing multiple tasks.
• Bonus: Prior experience in contract review/management, corporate legal work, or healthcare-related environments. The ability to work independently and a proactive, responsive, and detail-oriented approach are also preferred.
