Intern, Business Development Associate, Fall 2026/Winter 2027 | Gigascale Capital
The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Gigascale Capital, located in Scotts Valley, CA. The intern will be working with Heron Power, a company that builds cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. Heron Power aims to accelerate the electrification of everything by providing scalable, less costly hardware solutions for electricity generation and consumption. The leadership team brings extensive experience in designing and shipping gigawatts of power conversion products. The company strives to foster a collaborative, enriching environment that supports personal, technical, and career growth, focusing on solving difficult problems through first principles engineering. This role is important for supporting Heron Power’s commercial efforts and building key partnerships.

• Mission: Supports the BD team by owning research, pipeline management, and material preparation for customer engagements with major energy and data center developers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Research: Research and profile target accounts across solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and data center markets.
• Data Management: Maintain and enrich the CRM, ensuring pipeline data is accurate and current.
• Market Analysis: Track market developments and synthesize them into usable intelligence for the team.
• Meeting Preparation: Prepare account briefings, meeting materials, and follow-up communications.
• Content Translation: Assist in translating technical content into customer-facing collateral.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level career experience or interest in inverter-based resources, data centers, AI, manufacturing, and/or energy.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability as a self-starter with a bias for action, comfortable thriving in an ambiguous startup environment.
• Skills: Analytical mindset, including comfort with Excel and pivot tables; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a collaborative approach; proven problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Bonus: Prior experience selling power electronics or new energy hardware products for first-of-a-kind deployments; familiarity with utility-scale project development, procurement, and commissioning; understanding of medium-voltage systems and their applications in renewable energy or data centers.
