This is an entry-level, full-time development role at Nucor Corporation, requiring relocation after initial training. The TL;DR

• Location: In-person. Initial training in one geographic region, with required relocation after training to Cincinnati, Houston, Kansas City, Louisville, Miami, Orlando, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, or Tampa.
• Pay: $77000 yearly
• Mission: Train individuals to become scrap buyers through hands-on experience, developing expertise in sales, market analysis, and customer relationship management within the recycling industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Complete a 6-12 month hands-on, in-depth training program in one geographic region to learn the full scrap buying process.
• Safety Leadership: Actively lead and uphold Nucor’s “Safety First” culture, including OSHA practices and daily operational safety standards.
• Relationship Management: Develop and support relationships with accounts, vendors, and suppliers to provide the best possible customer service and resolve problems.
• Market Analysis: Gain a deep understanding of the scrap recycling market through customer visits, mentor shadowing, and communicate market forecasts.
• Field Work: Engage in market-facing and field-based work, spending time in scrap yards and conducting customer visits, which includes frequent travel and working in industrial environments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Sales, Economics, Finance, or a related field; this is an entry-level development role.
• Experience: Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively; previous leadership, sales, and/or customer service experience is preferred.
• Skills: Exceptional communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, customer service, adaptability, and the ability to make quick decisions with confidence.
• Bonus: Continuous improvement mindset, creative problem solving, ability to interface effectively with customers and teammates, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and bilingual in English and Spanish.
