Senior Paralegal | Forbes Solicitors

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Forbes Solicitors, located in their Gordon House Office. Forbes Solicitors is a leading legal firm with deep roots in Lancashire, known for providing genuine, practical advice across a comprehensive range of legal services. This Senior Paralegal role is critical for their Housing and Regeneration (Property) team, bringing essential experience to manage social housing client transactions and contribute to a collaborative, professional environment that values work-life balance.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time, 36.25 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
• Location: In-person, Gordon House Office

• Team: Housing and Regeneration (Property) team
• Mission: Manage and progress home ownership transactions for social housing clients, delivering chargeable legal work and achieving successful outcomes.
• Tech Stack: Legal case management systems (e.g., PfW), Word, Excel, Outlook

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Legal Services: Provide effective and efficient legal services to social housing clients by managing and progressing home ownership transactions and delivering chargeable legal work.
• Transaction Management: Handle a broad range of home ownership transactions for social housing clients, including Shared Ownership, open market plot sales, right to buy/acquire, lease extensions, and re-sales.
• Caseload & Documentation: Manage an open client caseload efficiently, draft and complete integral legal documents, and ensure successful delivery of client cases while maximising chargeable time.
• Legal Advice & Representation: Provide legal advice under supervision, support qualified advisors with high-risk or complex work, and represent clients in court or hearings to achieve preferable outcomes.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communications with clients and stakeholders, answering queries, managing expectations, providing updates, and effectively chasing required responses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrable experience as a Paralegal within property law, with experience managing the full lifecycle of client matters through to completion.
• Experience: Previous experience within property/housing sectors, familiarity with legal processes and terminology, experience using legal case management systems (e.g., PfW), and experience working towards financial targets.
• Skills: Excellent administrative skills including word processing and record maintenance, excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, and excellent IT skills.
• Bonus: Law Degree or other legal level 6 qualifications such as CILEX, or previous experience handling a broad range of home ownership transactions.
