Financial Analyst- Capital Management | Central Hudson

What You’ll Actually Do
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the financial and/or cash annual budget and the comprehensive 5-year financial forecast, alongside performing other essential financial analyses.
• Capital Planning: Focus on corporate capital planning and managing operating costs, which includes contributing to annual budgeting, producing monthly projections, and providing essential analytical support for internal stakeholders.
• Financial Strategy: Translate strategic business plans and forecasts into detailed financial plans and projections, ensuring the organization remains on track to achieve its financial and operational targets, and recommend appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
• Investment Analysis: Develop thorough business cases to support significant capital investments, evaluate new business initiatives, and formulate comprehensive financing plans.
• Regulatory Reporting: Compile and meticulously analyze financial data in preparation of required reports and filings for various regulatory agencies, as well as for other internal and external constituencies.
• Process Improvement: Drive and implement new process changes within the Finance and Accounting group to foster continuous improvement and enhance operational efficiency.
• Emergency Support: Provide critical support for storm and emergency restoration efforts, as part of the company’s broader operational responsibilities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field of study.
• Experience: None specified, but professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and financial planning is preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills; high proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel); well-developed written and verbal communication skills; ability to learn new computer software programs quickly.
• Bonus: General knowledge of accounting and the utility industry; experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Tagetik, PowerPlant); MBA or Master’s degree in a related field of study.
