Investment & Corporate Banking – Securitization, Director | Mizuho

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mizuho, located in New York, USA. Mizuho’s Banking Division provides corporate and investment banking coverage, advisory, and solutions to a client base of leading international corporations, financial institutions, and public sector entities. This Director position is vital for the New York-based Securitization team, focusing on the origination, execution, and management of bank-funded securitizations for esoteric assets. The role directly contributes to expanding Mizuho’s capital markets and lending capabilities by supporting strategic transaction development and idea generation.

• Pay: $300000–$325000 yearly
• Team: Securitization team, mainly focused on esoteric asset-backed securitizations.
• Mission: Originate, execute, and manage Mizuho’s bank-funded securitizations for esoteric assets.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Origination: Originate, syndicate, and execute warehouse securitization transactions for esoteric assets.
• Client Engagement: Generate pitch ideas, prepare pitch books, and join senior staff in meetings with existing and prospective customers.
• Deal Negotiation: Negotiate term sheets and transaction documentation with new and existing customers.
• Internal Approvals: Prepare credit and ratings applications and negotiate internal approvals for transactions.
• Transaction Analysis: Develop models and perform credit and collateral analysis on different types of esoteric assets, including aircraft, container, and digital infrastructure.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required; Director level; in-depth understanding of the securitization market, multiple asset classes, and types of structures.
• Experience: At least 7 years of relevant work experience; experience with term ABS and/or bank/conduit securitization structures; experience dealing with rating agencies, due diligence, risk weight and other regulatory reporting, and credit/underwriting processes.
• Skills: Advanced transaction modeling; analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities; strong written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Master’s degree preferred; Series 79 & 63.
