The Tone:
This is a full-time role at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, FL. The USAO-SDFL is a federal organization dedicated to enforcing and defending the laws of the United States through criminal prosecutions, civil litigation, and the collection of federal debts. This position is vital for providing direct legal support services to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and ensuring efficient administrative operations within the Criminal Division. The incumbent will join a respected team focusing on manpower planning legal support and litigative support.

• Team: Provides Legal Administrative Specialist support to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Florida, specifically managing an organizational segment that provides direct legal support to AUSAs, and accomplishing administrative assignments for the Criminal Chief.
• Mission: To manage legal support services for Assistant United States Attorneys and ensure effective administrative operations within the Criminal Division.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Systems Evaluation: Evaluate existing legal support systems and propose new or improved procedures for work methods, manpower utilization, equipment use, work distribution, caseload management, priority changes, workflow, and systems development.
• Administrative Support: Perform diverse administrative tasks to fulfill the operational needs of assigned areas within the Criminal Division.
• Litigation Support: Provide comprehensive case management, legal research, and overall support for litigation activities conducted by the Criminal Division.
• Organizational Management: Manage an organizational segment that delivers direct legal support services to the Assistant United States Attorneys.
• Divisional Administration: Accomplish administrative assignments directed by the Criminal Chief to ensure effective and efficient services across the Criminal Division.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is at the GS-12 level, requiring specialized expertise in legal support and administrative functions within a legal environment. No specific educational qualification is required.
• Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, obtained in either the public or private sectors, performing at least three of the following four duties: providing advice and guidance on complex litigation support issues; assisting in case management, legal research, and overall litigation support; analyzing legal and factual issues to determine data needs or relevance; or evaluating office legal support systems to propose procedural improvements.
• Skills: Litigation support, case management, legal research, administrative work, system evaluation and improvement, data analysis for legal matters.
