Investment Banking ECM Director / VP | Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., located in New York, NY. Oppenheimer is a leading middle-market investment bank and full-service broker-dealer with a history dating back to 1881. The Investment Banking team provides in-depth industry knowledge and market-based strategies to high-growth, entrepreneurial, middle-market companies. This role is crucial for originating and executing equity and equity-linked transactions, directly supporting the firm’s clients across key sectors like Technology, Consumer, Financial Institutions, and Industrials.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Originate: Drive the origination and execution of various transactions, including Initial Public Offerings, Follow-on Public Offerings, CMPOs, RDs, PIPEs, SPACs, and Private Placements.
• Develop: Expand and develop client relationships with key institutional investors, including mutual funds, hedge funds, and family offices.
• Liaise: Coordinate with both internal and external parties, such as corporate issuers, financial sponsors, and legal counsel, to expand corporate relationships and manage the day-to-day deal process.
• Lead: Take charge of drafting pitch materials and transaction marketing documents.
• Manage: Provide management, training, and stewardship for analysts and associates within the team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Director / VP level with core domain knowledge in Equity Capital Markets, primarily focused on execution.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in ECM, with a primary focus on execution activities.
• Skills: Demonstrate a sales-driven mentality with strong capital markets acumen, excellent verbal and written communication skills, elevated attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a team-player attitude. SIE, Series 63, and 79 FINRA registrations are required at the time of hiring or shortly thereafter.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include SPAC experience and strong knowledge of Dealogic, Ipreo, CapIQ, PlacementTracker, Bloomberg, and the MS Office suite.
