Technology Transformation and Execution Management Lead | FactSet

The Tone:
This is a senior leadership role at FactSet, operating within the Chief Technology Officer’s office. FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for over 200,000 investment professionals worldwide, providing instant access to financial data and analytics for crucial decisions. This role is vital for driving disciplined execution of FactSet’s highest-priority technology initiatives. It ensures technology investments are grounded in clear business cases, properly sequenced, and delivered with transparency and accountability.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: Connecticut or New York City
• Pay: $200000–$260000 yearly
• Team: CTO’s Office, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer
• Mission: Drive disciplined execution of FactSet’s highest-priority technology initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Governance: Shape technology investment decisions by establishing governance frameworks, templates, and standards that ensure clear business cases, costs, timelines, and expected returns before approval. Partner with leadership across technology, product, and finance to embed rigor from business case development through value realization, challenging assumptions and surfacing trade-offs.
• Portfolio Management: Manage the integrated technology portfolio, owning the cross-portfolio view of commitments, dependencies, sequencing, and capacity constraints. Maintain a real-time, authoritative picture of portfolio health to enable rapid prioritization and trade-off decisions, ensuring dependencies are visible and aligned across all teams.
• Strategic Initiative Execution: Lead end-to-end execution of the CTO’s enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, from initial mobilization through to outcome realization. This includes driving organizational readiness for agentic AI and advanced automation by assessing risks, operating model changes, and governance requirements.
• Executive Reporting: Provide consistent and transparent portfolio reporting on progress, risks, trade-offs, and necessary decisions, customizing communication from operational levels up to the Board. Ensure early escalation of risks, fostering a shared organizational understanding of status against plans.
• Operating Model Design: Design and manage the technology organization’s operating rhythm, including portfolio reviews, planning cycles, escalation forums, and decision checkpoints. Ensure governance forums lead to timely decisions with clear ownership and follow-through, continuously evolving the operating model for efficiency and scale.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive level professional with a preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration. This role requires a background in technology program management, transformation leadership, or strategy execution within a global Fintech, Financial Services, or enterprise technology organization.
• Experience: Requires 15+ years in technology program management or strategy execution, with 7+ years in senior leadership roles. Proven experience in delivering complex, multi-quarter, cross-functional technology transformation initiatives from inception to measurable business outcomes. Deep expertise in portfolio and program management, including managing sequencing, capacity constraints, and resolving dependencies. Demonstrated ability to design and operate governance structures and operating rhythms for large technology organizations, with strong change management experience. Proven experience operating effectively within or alongside the office of a CTO, CPO, or similar senior technology executive.
• Skills: Strong investment and business case discipline, including financial literacy for investment modeling, budget management, ROI, and cost-benefit analysis. Deep expertise in portfolio and program management, maintaining cross-portfolio coherence, and managing sequencing and capacity constraints, with proficiency in relevant tooling. Demonstrated ability to design and operate governance structures and operating rhythms for large technology organizations. Strong change management experience applying structured approaches to stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, and adoption tracking. Exceptional ability to synthesize complex portfolio status, risks, and trade-offs into clear, transparent narratives for executive and engineering audiences.
• Bonus: An advanced degree (MBA or MS in a technology or business discipline), program or portfolio management certification (e.g., PgMP, PMP, SAFe), or a change management certification (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, CCMP).
