Senior Financial Planning Consultant | LPL Financial

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at LPL Financial. This role is critical for supporting LPL financial advisors by providing expert guidance on a wide range of financial planning concepts, empowering them to deliver exceptional value and help their clients pursue financial goals. You will be a key resource, helping advisors navigate complex questions and connect with the right support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Advisor Support: Handle inbound calls and emails from LPL financial advisors and staff, offering clear guidance and resources on financial planning concepts and strategies.
• Research & Follow-Up: Research complex planning questions using reference materials and team support, then follow up with advisors to share findings.
• Partner Referrals: Connect advisors with appropriate LPL or external partners to ensure they receive the specific support they require.
• Internal Support Guidance: Refer advisors to relevant LPL planning support services such as Practice Management Coaching, Case Consulting, and Paraplanning.

The Must-Haves
• Background: CFP® designation required. Core domain knowledge in financial planning concepts.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally related to financial planning.
• Skills: Strong grasp of financial planning concepts with a commitment to continuous learning; excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including asking insightful questions, active listening, and concisely explaining complex ideas; highly collaborative, positive, and dedicated to delivering exceptional service to advisors; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SmartSheet.
• Bonus: Additional credentials in areas such as tax or estate planning; familiarity with popular financial planning software like eMoney/WealthVision, MoneyGuide, and/or RightCapital.
