What You’ll Actually Do
• E-Filing & Compliance: Execute complex e-filings through TrueFiling for Superior Courts, Federal Courts, Appellate Courts, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and other municipalities. This includes strictly adhering to special e-filing requirements, implementing Styles formatting, preparing Tables of Contents (TOC) and Tables of Authorities (TOA), creating precise bookmarking, and ensuring documents are PDF searchable.
• Pleadings & Document Formatting: Prepare a variety of essential pleadings, such as Corporate Disclosure Statements, Statements of Related Cases, Certificates of Compliance, and Certificates of Service, applying required PDF formatting standards.
• Legal Information Management: Efficiently manage, organize, and archive incoming legal information and research, maintaining robust electronic filing systems for proper storage and accessibility.
• Document & Data Retrieval: Systematically retrieve critical legal documents and data utilizing platforms like PACER, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for ongoing cases.
• Professional Communication: Serve as a key point of contact, communicating clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats with internal staff, clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, court personnel, executives, and external vendors.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess significant prior experience in managing a heavy and complex litigation caseload, demonstrating proficiency in comprehensive document review and meticulous maintenance procedures.
• Experience: Proven expertise in performing e-filings via systems like TrueFiling, retrieving legal documents through PACER, and conducting thorough legal and internet research using tools such as Lexis. Demonstrated competence in utilizing Microsoft 365 Applications is also required.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, an exceptional ability to multi-task efficiently, and a proven track record of effectively managing a high volume of intricate legal cases.
