Litigation Docket Specialist | Fenwick & West

The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Fenwick & West, based out of any of our U.S. office locations, with one required in-office day per week and potential for more as needed. Fenwick & West is a leading law firm providing comprehensive legal services, and this role is essential for maintaining the integrity and timeliness of legal processes across its Litigation, Corporate, and Administrative departments. As a Litigation Docket Specialist, you will be crucial in overseeing daily docket operations and ensuring the accuracy of the docket database. • Team: Reports to the Senior Risk Management Manager
• Mission: Oversee daily docket operations and assist with maintaining the docket database to ensure accurate legal deadline management.
• Tech Stack: CompuLaw, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

What You’ll Actually Do
Deadline Management: Review court, agency, and client documents to identify and calculate relevant legal and regulatory deadlines.
Database Entry: Accurately enter calculated deadlines and related information into the firm’s docket database.
Information Support: Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding docket entries and related policies.
Rule Set Maintenance: Maintain and update the rule sets utilized within the docket software to ensure compliance.
Training & Monitoring: Provide ongoing training on docket policies and procedures, monitor electronic court filings, and calendar 83b filing deadlines into CompuLaw.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-level career professional with core domain knowledge in federal and state court structures, procedures, and filing requirements.
• Experience: 5+ years of calendaring experience within a law firm or legal department, demonstrating proficiency in automated docketing/calendaring programs.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, robust organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Bonus: Knowledge of CompuLaw docketing software is preferred but not required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal direction.
