Legal Intern | G2

This is an internship at G2, located in Chicago, IL. G2 is the world’s largest and most trusted software marketplace, enabling businesses to make informed decisions and strategies through trusted insights from real software users. The company has expanded its reach by joining forces with Capterra, SoftwareAdvice, and GetApp, creating the largest source of online data and software insights to fuel intelligent buying. This role is crucial in supporting G2’s legal team as the company sets out to transform the global B2B software industry and become the most trusted data foundation for software buyers and sellers in the age of AI.

• Mission: To support the legal department in creating, managing, and strategizing on legal agreements, documents, and ongoing company-wide projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Researching: Conduct legal research on various topics, including artificial intelligence and intellectual property.
• Drafting: Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintaining: Maintain and update various trackers, including ongoing litigation, pending legislation, and internal contracts.
• Preparing: Assist in the preparation of presentations, memos, articles, and reports for internal and external use.
• Supporting: Provide general administrative support to the legal department as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and currently be pursuing a Juris Doctorate. This internship is specifically open to 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls who are enrolled in an accredited law school and maintain good academic standing.
• Experience: The role requires foundational experience developed through legal studies, particularly in areas relevant to legal research and document drafting.
• Skills: Strong research, writing, and analytical skills are essential, enabling effective contribution to legal projects. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is critical, along with keen attention to detail and the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficiency with Google Drive is also a required skill for daily operations.
