Corporate Development Associate | Red Ventures
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Red Ventures, located in South Charlotte, NC. Red Ventures is a global portfolio of high-growth companies, encompassing businesses like The Points Guy, Lonely Planet, and Bankrate, that deliver seamless digital experiences for consumers and help Fortune 100 clients. This role is crucial for driving the company’s M&A, investments, capital structuring, and inorganic growth decisions by being the engine behind transaction execution across various industries. It is a high-volume, high-accountability position requiring ownership of workstreams and making fast, informed decisions.

• Location: Hybrid, South Charlotte, NC (Tuesday through Thursday in-office, Monday and Friday remote)
• Pay: $90000–$130000 yearly
• Team: Corporate Development team
• Mission: This person will be the engine behind M&A, investments, capital structuring, and inorganic growth decisions across a range of transactions.
• Tech Stack: Excel, PowerPoint, CapIQ, AI-based software and tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Build and own first-draft financial models, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and valuation analyses with scenario modeling.
• Deal Pipeline Management: Maintain and manage the M&A and partnership deal pipeline, keeping records current and flagging high-priority opportunities.
• Target Screening: Conduct initial screening of inbound and proactively sourced targets, assessing strategic fit, deal size, and financial profile.
• Workstream Coordination: Manage workstreams end-to-end, coordinating cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, HR, Tax, and Operations.
• Executive Reporting: Prepare screening memos and presentation materials summarizing key facts, strategic rationale, and recommendations for leadership and board-level reviews.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or corporate development.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling skills, exceptional attention to detail, proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously under tight deadlines, intellectually curious, and clear, concise written and verbal communication.
