Investment Banking Associate | JW Michaels & Co.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a leading global investment bank, located in New York City. The bank provides independent strategic and financial advice to corporations, financial sponsors, and other institutional clients across various financial services. This role is crucial for supporting senior bankers in client coverage, transaction execution, marketing initiatives, and new business development. What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Advising: Support senior bankers in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, financing, capital structure, valuation, and other strategic financial matters.
• Document Preparation: Prepare financial analyses, ad hoc reports, presentation materials, and marketing documents to support client discussions and origination efforts.
• Transaction Execution: Assist with transaction execution activities, including financial modeling, due diligence coordination, process management, and preparation of client deliverables.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal industry sector teams and product groups to deliver comprehensive, high-quality advisory services to clients.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct company, industry, market, and transaction research to support deal execution and business development initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance; 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 2 years of investment banking experience.
• Experience: Proven experience with financial modeling, valuation, transaction analysis, and preparing client materials, preferably within a leading M&A boutique, investment bank, financing team, corporate development group, or related advisory platform.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, financial acumen, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
• Bonus: Comfort using AI tools to streamline workflows, maturity and executive presence for effective client and senior stakeholder interaction, and an entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in business development and client coverage.
