Analyst, Investment & Acquisitions or Strategy | DESRI

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at DESRI, a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. The company has successfully acquired or developed approximately 13 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 85 renewable energy projects in 24 states. This analyst position, available on either the Finance & Acquisitions or Strategy teams, is integral to supporting DESRI’s continued growth, market expansion, and investment decisions. It offers a unique opportunity for individuals to develop strong analytical, financial, and strategic skills by contributing to high-impact initiatives across DESRI’s extensive renewable energy platform.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Market Strategy Development: Support the development of DESRI’s market strategy and new project origination decisions by conducting comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analyses, including electricity market fundamentals and industry trends.
• Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate project returns, capital structures, investment risks, and value creation opportunities, directly supporting critical investment decisions.
• Transaction Due Diligence & Execution: Assist with due diligence efforts, coordinate third-party deliverables, and analyze project documentation for acquisitions, debt and tax equity financings, and asset sales, contributing analytical support throughout transaction execution.
• Market Research & Intelligence: Perform power market research, track industry trends, and maintain competitive intelligence to identify attractive markets for renewable energy and energy storage, and research demand opportunities with customers.
• Strategic Insights & Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and communicate strategic insights that inform business planning, investment decisions, and the execution of transactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, project finance, corporate finance, consulting, strategy, renewable energy, or a related analytical field.
• Experience: A proven record of academic and professional achievement, demonstrating strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, preferably in Excel, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear conclusions.
• Skills: Well-developed communication and organizational skills, the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Demonstrated interest in renewable energy projects and/or electricity markets in the United States.
