2027 Amazon Finance Rotation Program – Business Unit Finance Intern | Amazon

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Amazon, located in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA. Amazon operates as a large, diversified global technology company, encompassing areas from cloud computing via AWS and consumer devices to extensive e-commerce and retail operations. This role offers significant responsibility from the start, empowering interns to drive both business and financial decisions and deliver tangible results through an individual project. The work undertaken by interns is critical, directly contributing to meaningful change and improvement in how Amazon serves its vast customer base.

• Team: Placed across the Finance and Global Business Services (FGBS) organization on teams like AWS, Devices and Services, Operations Finance, Central FP&A, and Stores.
• Mission: Evaluate and quantify new business ideas, performing data-intensive analyses to drive meaningful change and improvement in customer service.
• Tech Stack: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, VBA).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Ownership: Dive deep into data to support recommendations and drive resolutions for an individual intern project.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify capital investment requirements and/or cost reduction opportunities.
• Reporting Design: Design and maintain insightful reporting to empower business partners to take action.
• Communication: Interpret and communicate project results and standard work to finance and business partner leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship for candidates currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in finance, economics, accounting, business administration and management, or a related field, with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Experience: This role requires the ability to complete a 12-week in-person internship, working 40 hours per week, starting in May or June 2027. Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic, leadership, and/or extracurricular record, along with a track record of using data and metrics to make decisions and build scalable solutions.
• Skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and VBA. A solid understanding of business fundamentals and accounting concepts is essential. The role demands effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a keen focus on delivering business results, coupled with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Bonus: Ability to influence across all levels of an organization and capacity to act strategically, making decisions under ambiguity.
