Financial Analyst | Cornerstone Home Lending

This is an early-career role at Cornerstone Home Lending, a national home lender and a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank. This role is crucial for supporting the Finance team by assisting with financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting activities, and operational performance tracking, directly contributing to informed business decisions and organizational growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and support the creation of quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Analysis: Compile and analyze financial and operational data for management review, including reviewing branch profit and loss statements.
• Planning: Support budgeting and forecasting processes, while also gathering and maintaining large datasets.
• Monitoring: Help monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics, identifying trends and anomalies within financial and operational data.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments to gather information, support business initiatives, and participate in process improvement projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field, ideal for an early-career professional.
• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, business analytics, or a related field.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis; basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Bonus: Experience with Power BI, SQL, Tableau, or other reporting tools; mortgage banking or financial services experience is a plus.
