Commercial Financial Analyst | The Marzetti Company

The Tone:
This is a Commercial Financial Analyst role at The Marzetti Company, operating in an in-person office environment. The Marzetti Company manufactures and sells specialty food products, including well-known retail brands like Marzetti® dressings and Sister Schubert’s® dinner rolls, and supplies major restaurant chains through its foodservice business. This role is a key position within the growing finance department, offering the opportunity to build skills and gain experience across various functions such as Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics. This individual will play a central role within the FP&A group, providing financial analysis to support critical decision-making and contributing to the company’s mission to make every meal better.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver Financial Insights: Partner with teams to provide financial analysis that translates data into actionable business insights for critical decision-making.
• Report Financial Performance: Prepare and communicate monthly financial results and variance analyses, including SG&A and consumer marketing spend, to functional leaders through comprehensive reporting packages.
• Support Month-End Close: Execute month-end close responsibilities and prepare monthly journal entries in collaboration with accounting.
• Support Annual Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the annual operating plan, ensuring financial objectives align with business priorities.
• Conduct Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform additional financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years of finance or accounting experience; proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel ability.
• Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills; excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Bonus: Eagerness to learn the business and develop new skills; trustworthiness and ability to maintain full confidentiality.
