• Mission: To assist with multiple practice areas, supporting legal operations through various paralegal tasks and gaining practical experience across the firm’s diverse legal work.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Observation & Mentorship: Shadow experienced paralegals, working independently on assigned tasks, and receiving direct guidance from mentors to develop practical legal support skills.
• Firm Operations Insight: Interview various work group members across the firm to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational intricacies and workflows within a large legal environment.
• E-Discovery & Document Management: Execute e-Discovery tasks, including precise document coding and tagging utilizing platforms such as Relativity, alongside proficiently managing information within legal databases and electronic document management systems.
• Legal Document Preparation: Assist with the supervised preparation of critical legal documents, such as deposition kits and trial exhibits, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
• Case Record Analysis: Summarize complex testimony and extensive case records, itemize damages for legal claims, and contribute to the drafting of comprehensive discovery responses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Students actively pursuing a paralegal certificate program that specifically mandates a practical internship component.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience are required; the internship itself serves as the foundational practical experience for certificate program completion.
• Skills: Demonstrate aptitude for legal document organization and management, including precise coding and tagging. Possess a foundational ability to utilize databases and electronic document management systems for efficient information handling. Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with firm members and summarizing legal information.
