Cost Analyst | Insight Global
The Tone:
This is a full-time role with Insight Global. The location for this position is not specified, but it supports a large industrial construction project. This role offers an excellent entry point for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in project controls, cost management, and financial analysis. The Junior Cost Analyst will work directly with project managers and senior project controls professionals, playing a crucial part in monitoring project spending, analyzing cost performance, supporting change management, and developing reporting tools that help maintain project budgets and schedules.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Tracking: Support comprehensive cost tracking activities for a large industrial construction project, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Financial Management: Assist in all aspects of project budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor project spending closely and analyze cost performance against established financial targets and schedules.
• Change Management: Support change management efforts, helping to assess and integrate cost impacts of project modifications.
• Reporting & Tools: Develop and utilize effective reporting tools to provide financial visibility and help keep projects on budget and on schedule.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, Project Management, or a related field. This role is ideal for an early-career professional seeking an entry point into project controls and cost management.
• Experience: 0-3 years of professional experience in cost analysis, project controls, accounting, construction, or a related discipline.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong Excel skills, encompassing formula application, reporting, and data analysis. Possesses excellent attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, analytical thinking, strong communication and collaboration skills, and is self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
• Bonus: Prior experience through internships, co-ops, or projects within construction, engineering, manufacturing, mining, or industrial environments. Exposure to Power BI, project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, or project-based work environments is also preferred.
