What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide comprehensive administrative and case support for Trust & Estates attorneys, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing client meetings to ensure efficient practice operations.
• Prepare and organize a variety of legal documents pertaining to estate planning and administration, such as wills, trusts, probate filings, and guardianship papers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Assist with case management and client communication for ongoing Trust & Estates matters, which includes maintaining client files, drafting correspondence, and acting as a point of contact for routine inquiries.
• Support legal professionals with tasks related to Family Law cases, when required, which may involve drafting petitions, organizing discovery documents, and assisting with hearing preparations.
• Maintain organized physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documentation is accurately categorized and easily retrievable, thereby supporting an efficient workflow within the legal team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Formal education in a relevant field such as paralegal studies, legal assisting, or a related discipline, demonstrating a foundational understanding of legal principles.
• Experience: Demonstrated prior professional experience supporting legal teams, specifically with direct involvement in Estates law, including practical exposure to probate processes, estate administration, or trust documentation.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple cases and deadlines efficiently; strong written and verbal communication abilities for interacting with clients and colleagues; meticulous attention to detail in document preparation and review; proficiency in legal document management systems and general office software; and proven ability to coordinate tasks effectively within a legal office environment.
• Bonus: Previous experience or familiarity with Family Law practice areas, demonstrating the ability to adapt to diverse legal support needs and contribute effectively to family-related cases.
