Valmark Service Center Intern | Valmark Financial Group

The Tone:
This is an internship at Valmark Financial Group, located in Akron, OH. The company’s Service Center team acts as a vital resource desk for outside Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and provides third-party consulting to assist financial advisors with their servicing needs. This role is crucial for supporting senior planners with daily workflows, including case implementation, servicing, and research for ongoing projects. As an intern, you will develop key back-office expertise in Valmark’s proprietary Service Center processes and gain foundational awareness of financial planning terminology, directly contributing to the team’s ability to support financial professionals nationwide.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Mastery: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Valmark’s proprietary Service Center processes.
• Client Support: Provide assistance with initial plan implementation, recommendations, and reviews for financial professionals.
• Information Gathering: Collect necessary information from various sources, including insurance carriers, Valmark’s clients, and internal systems.
• Proposal Preparation: Prepare annuity proposals to support specific case design for advisors.
• Material Development: Update existing and create new advisor-facing and client-facing materials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level role. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Ability to commit 16-24 hours per week during spring and fall semesters, and 30-40 hours per week during summer months. No specific prior professional experience is required.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
• Bonus: A curious and eager-to-learn mindset, openness to constructive feedback, and an optimistic, positive attitude are highly valued. Creative thinking and relationship-building skills are also a plus.
