Investment Banking Analyst – Software & Services | MUFG

The Tone:
This is a full-time Investment Banking Analyst role with Intrepid Investment Bankers, the middle-market advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), one of the world’s largest financial groups. The role is located in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY, with a hybrid work schedule. Intrepid is a specialty investment bank providing M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory services to a diverse client base including entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors, and major corporations. • Team: Works closely with Managing Directors, Directors, Vice Presidents, Associates, and clients on deal teams.
• Mission: Executes M&A advisory and capital-raising services tailored to the unique needs of technology industry clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct client-specific and comprehensive industry research to support deal execution.
• Due Diligence: Organize, review, and analyze due diligence processes and materials for transactions.
• Financial Modeling: Develop advanced valuation analyses and models, including projections, LBO, DCF, public comparables, and historical M&A transactions.
• Marketing Materials: Prepare comprehensive information packages, pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations, and other marketing materials.
• Acquirer Identification: Compile thorough lists of prospective acquirers for M&A processes.
• Firm Building: Assist senior bankers with various firm-building activities, such as training and recruiting initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced Analyst with outstanding academic credentials from a top-tier school, demonstrating familiarity with accounting and corporate finance concepts as well as financial statement analysis.
• Experience: At least one year of full-time sell-side M&A advisory and investment banking experience is required. This role is not accepting entry-level or intern resumes.
• Skills: Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, a significant level of maturity, and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team in an entrepreneurial and demanding environment. Proficient in developing complex valuation analyses and models, including projections, LBO, DCF, public comparables, and historical M&A transactions.
