Vice President, Banker, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) | Citi
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Citi, located in New York, NY. Citi is a global financial institution that assists clients in raising funds in the capital markets and provides strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other types of financial transactions. This Vice President Banker role is critical for serving as a senior-level strategic advisor, formulating investment strategies, raising capital for clients, and guiding them through complex financial processes. The position contributes directly to the firm’s growth and client success within the institutional banking framework.

• Mission: To act as a strategic advisor to clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for them.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Leadership: Assume significant responsibility for various phases of project and transaction execution, new business development, and overall growth of the firm.
• Client Financing: Work closely with clients on financing transactions and guide them through the capital raising process, including leading due diligence and drafting sessions while preparing them for equity or debt offerings.
• M&A Advisory: Work with clients, senior-level team members, and outside professional advisors on Mergers & Acquisitions and special situation transactions.
• Document Preparation: Draft situation analyses, pitch materials, information memoranda, investor and management presentations, and oversee work performed by analysts and associates assigned to projects.
• Client Intermediation: Serve as an intermediary in trading for clients in coordination with the Institutional Banking team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or University degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the corporate banking business, its related products, pertinent regulations, and lending and credit approval processes.
• Experience: 6-10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically within Banking. Demonstrated experience with large corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance, and securities products.
• Skills: Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Must hold Series 63 and 79 licenses.
• Bonus: An MBA or Master’s Degree in Business is preferred.
