Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) | United States Attorneys’​ Offices

The Tone:
This is a position within the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, part of the Department of Justice. This role is critical for providing essential litigation support, ensuring the efficient handling and management of electronic evidence in legal proceedings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• File Management: Evaluate electronic files and develop comprehensive plans for their handling and management.
• Data Handling: Extract data from various storage devices and download necessary data from transfer sites.
• Review Coordination: Manage complex and voluminous reviews conducted by filter and investigative teams.
• Compliance Tracking: Track and coordinate data processing to ensure compliance with discovery and evidence admissibility requirements.
• Information Protection: Identify privileged and other protected information for redaction and apply redactions to text and multimedia files.

The Must-Haves
• Background: To be eligible for the GS-12 level, candidates must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service.
• Experience: Processing complex and voluminous electronically stored information (ESI) and preparing it for review or production by a litigation team. This includes providing advice, customer support, and project management for electronic discovery, evidence, litigation support projects, and related technology applications, as well as offering technical assistance to litigation teams presenting electronic evidence in legal proceedings.
• Skills: Processing electronically stored information, electronic discovery and evidence management, litigation support project management, utilization of litigation technology software applications, and technical assistance for presenting electronic evidence.
