The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Conagra Brands, located in Omaha, NE, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office. This role contributes to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting by performing inventory accounting and analysis, applying general accounting principles, and supporting timely financial information delivery and process improvements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Perform accounting activities related to inventory processes, including abnormal inventory costs, lower of cost or market assessments, contract manufacturing, supplier rebates, and balance sheet flux reporting.
• Cost Analysis: Support actual costing processes using SAP Material Ledger, including variance analysis and review, to ensure accurate cost information.
• Period Close & Audits: Prepare and upload journal entries, support timely completion of period-end close activities, and assist with internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules and documentation.
• Account Reconciliation: Create and maintain monthly accounting schedules supporting balance sheet reconciliations, analyze balance sheet accounts, investigate reconciling items, and resolve issues promptly.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with plant, brand, co-pack, and supply chain finance teams to explain financial results and provide insights, while participating in projects such as system implementations, policy updates, and process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years in public accounting, corporate accounting, cost accounting, or general finance roles.
• Skills: Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts; intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel; strong communication, organization, planning, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills.
• Bonus: Experience with inventory or cost accounting; experience working with SAP or similar financial systems; experience working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities.
