Financial Analyst | Abbott

The Tone:
This is an onsite Financial Analyst role at Abbott, located in Alameda, CA, within the Diabetes Care Division. Abbott is a global healthcare leader dedicated to improving people’s health by creating breakthrough science across diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals, and branded generic medicines. This position is a key value-added role, crucial for driving financial ownership, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic analytics to help people with diabetes lead healthier lives.

• Mission: This person ensures timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support the North America Diabetes Care business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Support the North America region’s weekly sales reporting, manage the month-end close process, and prepare LBE Confirms and LBE forecasts.
• Performance Analysis: Consolidate financial forecasts and actuals reporting, partnering with affiliate commercial and functional teams to analyze Sales, P&L, and Balance Sheet performance versus various financial benchmarks.
• Business Partnership: Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to management, utilizing knowledge of finance systems and familiarity with business operations, ensuring leaders have the data needed for informed decisions.
• Planning Process Management: Maintain an effective and efficient planning process for the division and supported functional areas, including the coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
• Ad-Hoc Support: Provide support for other ad-hoc finance requests or inquiries from business partners, responding to emerging business needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of full-time finance and/or accounting experience.
• Skills: Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, variance analysis capabilities, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn system software and databases like SAP, Essbase, and HFM.
