District Sales Manager – Strategic Northeast | Palo Alto Networks
The Tone:

As a District Sales Manager, you will lead the Strategic Sales Team in the Northeast region, directly contributing to the company’s goal of becoming the cybersecurity partner of choice by driving sales and shaping the future of the industry.

• Mission: Develop and execute sales plans, monitor team performance, and exceed the overall Strategic Team quota for IDIRA, by PANW.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Talent Development: Hire, train, and develop team members to align with company values, growth objectives, and business goals, contributing to the team’s overall success and professional development.
• Performance Leadership: Manage and motivate the direct sales team by correlating performance expectations to business goals, including guiding account planning, proposal development, and providing consistent performance feedback.
• Executive Relationships: Build and expand a network of customer executive relationships, both independently and alongside team members, to grow programs leading to expansion opportunities and execute customer negotiations effectively.
• Partner Collaboration: Work with local Value Added Resellers to transfer knowledge, motivate their management and account executives, and perform mutual marketing events, participating in quarterly review sessions with key partners where appropriate.
• Strategic Account Engagement: Be directly involved and influential in top opportunities, focusing sales efforts on large key accounts with the team, and monitoring the sales performance of your team to meet and exceed the overall Strategic Team quota.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level; Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science major, Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification, or Master of Business Administration is preferred.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience as an enterprise software sales executive in the region and a manager of teams, with required information security/network architecture experience. Demonstrated ability to cultivate, qualify, and close enterprise software agreements with the Fortune 1000.
• Skills: Expert negotiation skills, proven ability to call on Fortune 500 C-Suite executives across multiple buying centers, strong verbal and written communication skills internally and externally, above average organizational and planning skills, ability to accurately forecast on behalf of the team, highly effective presentation skills, and excellent analytical skills to translate market trends and sales data.
• Bonus: Experience working with the top Global Systems Integrators is preferred; sales engineering, programming, and/or technical implementation/support experience is a plus.
