Financial Analyst, Technical Infrastructure | Google

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Google. Google’s Technical Infrastructure integrates hardware and software that power its customer products, services, and internal operations. The Google Data Center team builds and operates the world’s private data center fleets, which are powered by renewable energy. As a Financial Analyst, your core purpose is to ensure Google makes sound financial decisions. Your work, which includes modeling business scenarios and tracking performance metrics, directly informs strategic company decisions made by leaders. You will also lead individual projects aimed at transforming planning, tracking, and control processes, providing senior management with insightful recommendations and comprehensive reporting support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Optimize: Collaborate directly with business partners to optimize the planning, forecasting, and overall management of the data center operating teams.
• Drive Decisions: Utilize investigative and advanced modeling skills to help drive critical investment decisions, mitigate financial risks, and facilitate informed resource trade-offs while maintaining business agility.
• Ensure Compliance: Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and various Business/Product teams to ensure a cohesive approach for strategic decision making, uphold regulatory compliance, ensure accurate analytics and reporting, and manage data collection effectively.
• Improve Insights: Work with management across both Finance and the broader business units to drive the achievement of key financial metrics and continuously improve financial insight and established practices.
• Allocate Resources: Partner with business leaders to ensure optimal financial management, achieve Return On Investment (ROI) metrics, and facilitate efficient resource allocation across operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or have equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree. This includes comprehensive experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions, such as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling, specifically within a multinational company setting.
• Skills: Demonstrable expertise in financial modeling, including strong capabilities in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Proven investigative skills are also required for in-depth analysis.
• Bonus: Experience managing FP&A for data center functions, proficiency with SQL, excellent partnership and collaboration skills across various stakeholders, and the ability to thrive and work effectively with ambiguity in an unstructured environment.
