Capital Markets Analyst II- Syndicated & Leveraged Finance | Regions Bank
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Regions Bank, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Regions Bank is a comprehensive financial institution where Capital Markets delivers products and services to meet the diverse needs of Corporate, Commercial, and Real Estate clients. This includes providing hedging products for managing interest rate, commodity, and foreign exchange risks, capital raising services that complement the bank’s lending activities, and advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and non-traditional capital. This role for an Analyst II in Syndicated and Leveraged Finance is integral to supporting senior team members in all aspects of the deal process, ensuring Regions’ relationship managers are equipped to compete effectively and maintain their trusted advisor status with clients. Analysts are expected to partner across teams, build and analyze financial models, and prepare client marketing materials, setting a clear path for professional development into Associate roles with opportunities for exceptional analytical skill development, exposure, relationship building, and leadership.

• Team: Capital Markets Analysts within the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance business group, supporting Managing Directors, Directors, and Vice Presidents.
• Mission: Assist senior team members in the Capital Markets Syndicated and Leveraged Finance group, which focuses on loan syndications, leveraged finance, financial sponsor coverage, and private/alternative capital advisory for middle market companies, to facilitate complex financial transactions and client advisory through analysis and material preparation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Marketing: Develop and create compelling client marketing materials to articulate value propositions and transaction details for Capital Markets offerings.
• Modeling: Generate complex financial models, including leveraged buyout (LBO) and discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses, to assess and evaluate potential transactions.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive transaction offering documents in close collaboration with senior team members and various internal bank groups, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Presentations: Facilitate and actively participate in bank/investor meetings and sell-side management presentations, contributing to effective client engagement.
• Research: Perform comprehensive industry and market research, staying abreast of client and industry trends to inform strategic and tactical planning.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a proven record of high achievement, including coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance.
• Experience: Possess past relevant experience, such as summer internships or 1-2 years of professional experience, ideally within a financial services or capital markets context.
• Skills: Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word proficiency; strong analytical, organizational, and communication (written, oral, and interpersonal) skills; clear, logical thinking with strong qualitative and mathematics abilities; attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively under pressure.
• Bonus: Master of Business Administration (MBA).
