Summer Intern of Real Estate Asset Management | Affordable Equity Partners, Inc.

Affordable Equity Partners (AEP) provides a full range of investment banking services for those seeking to finance, build, purchase, or rehabilitate multi-family housing. Since 1997, AEP has invested in nearly 27,000 homes in 500 communities, serving the growing need for affordable housing across 16 states and syndicating over $4 billion in tax credits. This role supports the company’s mission by offering a hands-on learning experience in real estate finance and asset management, providing exposure to budgeting, reporting, and portfolio performance tracking.

• Mission: This intern will assist with the collection, organization, and analysis of financial and operational data for affordable housing properties to support the Asset Management team’s functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Collection: Assist in collecting and inputting monthly financial and occupancy data into internal systems.
• Reporting Support: Support in identifying anomalies or unusual trends in financial reports under supervision.
• Documentation Management: Help track and organize project documentation, capital contributions, and budget updates.
• Tool Maintenance: Assist in updating internal tracking tools, such as lease-up summaries and draw spreadsheets.
• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative and analytical support for the department.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field, with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
• Experience: Preferably entering Junior year; Sophomores will be considered. Strong interest in real estate or affordable housing is a plus.
• Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data entry, and formatting), strong attention to detail, organizational skills, professional communication, ability to work collaboratively, eagerness to learn and ask questions.
• Bonus: Analytical mindset with an interest in financial data, ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines, willingness to take initiative and solve problems independently with guidance.
