Summer Research Associate (Campus) | Societe Generale

The Tone:
This is a 10-week internship role at Bernstein (a joint venture of AllianceBernstein and Societe Generale), located in New York, NY. Bernstein is a premier global equity research and brokerage firm known for its in-depth quantitative forecasts and industry expertise. This role is crucial for college juniors and Master’s students to contribute to the firm’s signature research, learn in-depth sector analysis, and build foundational expertise in investment management. It offers a structured learning environment to develop future talent for the investment management industry.

• Team: Assigned to a sector team (e.g., US Food, Internet, Banks) and works closely with a Senior Analyst and other Associates.
• Mission: To learn about and contribute to thematic, industrial strength, collaborative, data-driven, bottom-up, and differentiated equity research.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build Expertise: Build expertise in your sector working with a seasoned industry expert and other Associates.
• Learn Analysis: Learn in-depth analysis of the sector, companies, and stocks by working with your team through a quarterly earnings cycle.
• Complete Project: Complete a significant project and deliver a presentation to senior management.
• Attend Programs: Attend Bernstein Summer School learning and development programs.
• Interact with Peers: Interact with peers in research, sales, and trading through a variety of networking and social activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or Master’s students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028, with a track record of outstanding academic performance.
• Experience: Evidence of thought leadership, intellectual breadth, quantitative rigor, and a differentiated approach to solving problems.
• Skills: Excellent broad-based analytical skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong quantitative backgrounds and ability to work with data sets, relentless intellectual curiosity.
• Bonus: Financial modeling experience, demonstrated experience working with clients in a professional service environment.
