Art & Entertainment Law Extern for Fall 2026 | Adwar Ivko

The Tone:
This is an unpaid externship at Adwar Ivko, located in New York, NY. Adwar Ivko was founded in 2024 through the merger of Ivko Law Group and Furgang Adwar LLP, bringing together two renowned New York-based firms. The firm advocates for visionaries across art, cultural property, film, music, luxury goods, beauty, fashion, architecture, and emerging technologies. This externship provides a setting where legal theory meets real-world challenges, offering mentorship and the chance to contribute to reshaping industries and setting precedents.

The TL;DR
• Role: Externship
• Location: In-person, New York, NY
• Team: Supervised closely by experienced attorneys
• Mission: To provide legal support and guidance to visionaries in the art and entertainment industries, including emerging technologies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist with litigation: Support legal disputes for artists and cultural property owners.
• Draft legal documents: Prepare contracts and agreements for luxury brands, fashion entities, and architectural projects.
• Strategize deals: Contribute to the planning and negotiation of film and music industry agreements.
• Apply legal knowledge: Engage in real-world legal challenges, putting classroom theory into practice.
• Benefit from professional development: Gain valuable networking opportunities, extensive learning experiences, and mentorship from experienced attorneys.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Eligible to work in the U.S.; completed 2L year of law school.
• Experience: Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply legal knowledge in a real-world legal environment; highly organized and enthusiastic about the intersection of law and business.
• Skills: Detail-oriented yet concise writer and editor; exceptional oral communication skills; values timeliness and maintains high morale.
• Bonus: Completed at least three of the following courses: IP courses, Arbitration or dispute resolution courses, Art law, Emerging technologies (e.g., crypto, NFT, metaverse, VR, AI), Nonprofit law, Secured transactions, Trusts and estates, Tax law, International law, Advanced writing / research, Contract negotiation and drafting, Administrative law, Regulatory courses (e.g., talent agencies, anti-money laundering laws), Business law, or Talent representation / management specific courses.
