Business Engagement Coordinator | Stinson LLP

The firm requires a dedicated professional to manage critical information governance functions, including the meticulous production of conflicts reports and the precise data governance of related parties. This role is essential for maintaining the highest levels of accuracy in client and party data, directly supporting the firm’s attorneys and administrative teams in ensuring compliance, ethical standards, and efficient new business operations. The Business Engagement Coordinator plays a vital part in upholding the firm’s information integrity and facilitating seamless business intake processes.

• Mission: To produce diverse work product under the umbrella of Information Governance, including conflicts reports and data governance for the related parties’ database.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Conflicts Scope Definition: Collaborate with firm attorneys, legal administrative assistants, conflicts counsel, and administrative support personnel to define the comprehensive scope of various new business requests, including those for new and existing clients, supplemental matters, re-openings, board memberships, marketing initiatives, and preliminary conflict search requests.
• Conflicts Data Analysis & Extraction: Analyze information provided in requests from attorneys and administrative support personnel to precisely identify what data requires a conflicts search, and determine the most effective methods to extract accurate information from the related parties’ database for optimal result sets.
• False Positive Resolution: Analyze final conflicts reports by making key decisions regarding which parties may be producing false positives, systematically clearing these false positives to provide accurate reporting and directly assist conflicts attorneys in the final conflicts clearance process.
• Business Intake & Engagement Verification: Take responsibility for confirming that engagement letters attached to new business accurately reflect the client as defined by the original conflicts search, coordinating diligently with attorneys and LAAs to gain all appropriate documentation before officially opening new business matters.
• Procedural Guidance & Support: Proactively communicate with attorneys, legal administrative assistants, and administrative support personnel to address questions regarding conflicts and business intake procedures, and efficiently handle a variety of incoming requests received through the firm’s internal ticketing queue system.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A college degree or equivalent work experience in a professional setting.
• Experience: 3-4 years of experience in a law firm or in conflicts management.
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, and independent problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Prior law firm experience.
