Investment Analyst | Turn/River Capital

The Tone:
This is a two-year, entry-level Analyst program at Turn/River Capital, beginning August 2027, located in San Francisco, CA, and offering a hybrid work model. Turn/River Capital is a private equity firm that applies a proprietary growth engineering strategy to investing, partnering with software businesses to accelerate growth and build enduring value. The firm’s team, composed equally of investors and operators, provides hands-on operational support and flexible capital to systematically scale marketing, sales, and customer success at its portfolio companies. This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating B2B software businesses based on their financial performance and operational improvement opportunities, directly aligning with Turn/River’s go-to-market playbooks and overall investment strategy. Exceptional performers will have the opportunity to grow into partner-track investing roles over time within this critical deal identification and sourcing function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Market Analysis: Identify and define market opportunities and verticals that are interesting to Turn/River.
• Company Engagement: Engage with interesting companies and their CEOs that fit Turn/River’s target investment profile, generating excitement for the brand.
• Qualification & Presentation: Qualify companies through conversations and various operational and financial metrics, then present these findings to the broader investment team.
• Transaction Execution: Partner with investment professionals to deploy capital and execute transactions.
• Sourcing Optimization: Actively build and carry out sourcing processes, technologies, and positioning by A/B testing various marketing, sales, and growth best practices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional holding an undergraduate degree from a competitive program, demonstrating strong academic performance. Candidates should have a keen interest in both technology and finance.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is required for this entry-level program.
• Skills:
• Communication & Relationship Building: Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for engaging directly with CEOs and collaborating effectively within a team.
• Learning & Insight: An avid self-learner capable of providing thoughtful insights and taking creative approaches to identify and engage top prospects.
• Execution & Detail: Exceptional ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with extreme attention to detail, coupled with strong project management and organizational skills.
• Drive & Enthusiasm: A high-energy individual passionate about investing, data, technology, and developing professional relationships.
• Bonus: Prior finance experience or coursework, experience in B2B software, and proficiency with sales tools are considered beneficial.
