Financial Analyst | Norsk Hydro
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Norsk Hydro, located in Elkhart, IN, with required support and travel to North Liberty, IN. Hydro, established in 1905, is a world-leading aluminium extrusion business, employing 30,000 people across more than 140 locations globally, turning natural resources into valuable products. The Financial Analyst is critical for managing the general ledger, executing month-end close procedures, and preparing financial statements, thereby providing essential data for operational and financial decision-making. This role offers significant exposure to financial planning and operational support, preparing the individual for future leadership opportunities within the finance department.

• Mission: Owns general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation and reporting to support timely daily, monthly, and annual financial and operational data.
• Tech Stack: Oracle System, SAP, S/4 HANA
What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Accounting & Inventory: Account for accurate standard costs, manage the annual review process, perform inventory costing, and conduct absorption testing.
• Month-End Close & Reporting: Accurately compile data for journal entries during month-end closing processes and support financial statement preparation.
• Financial Analysis & Controls: Provide financial analysis support, including identifying cost control opportunities, managing working capital, and reviewing internal control design and effectiveness.
• Planning & Budgeting: Assist with the operation’s planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, and support the creation of the annual business plan.
• Capital & Fixed Assets: Supply necessary financial data for capital appropriations and assist with the annual fixed asset inventory.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in similar financial roles, preferably including experience in a Plant Operation environment.
• Skills: Excellent communication, strong analytical skills, excellent computer skills, understanding of standard costing principles and variance analysis, ability to perform inventory valuation, reconcile inventory accounts, and analyze inventory movements.
• Bonus: Experience with Oracle System, proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP), experience with manufacturing KPIs, experience with S/4 HANA.
