The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Forage, located in San Francisco-HQ, requiring in-office presence. Forage is building the modern payments stack that powers inclusive commerce, enabling grocers, delivery platforms, and point-of-sale systems to seamlessly accept EBT payments both online and in-store. Beyond infrastructure, Forage is helping SNAP EBT shoppers stretch their grocery budgets every week, making healthy food more affordable and accessible. This Financial Analyst role is crucial for scaling the Finance function as Forage expands across multiple business lines and transitions towards GAAP-compliant reporting, operating at the intersection of accounting and FP&A.

• Mission: Supports the scaling of Finance as Forage expands across multiple business lines and transitions toward GAAP-compliant reporting, owning both execution and modeling.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support GAAP Transition: Support the company’s transition toward GAAP-compliant accounting practices and methodologies.
• Manage Close Processes: Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing various schedules.
• Prepare Financial Schedules: Prepare accruals, prepaids, and revenue-related schedules, along with performing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Improve Operations: Help improve and scale accounting operations and close discipline, while supporting AR/AP process improvements and documentation.
• Build Financial Models: Build and maintain financial models across multiple business units, supporting consolidated forecasting and re-forecasting efforts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-level professional with a strong foundation in finance, accounting, or FP&A, possessing a robust understanding of GAAP fundamentals.
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, including participation in month-end close activities and building and maintaining financial models and projections.
• Skills: Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail, an ownership mindset, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
• Bonus: Background in Big 4 audit or accounting advisory, experience at a high-growth startup or fintech company, exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606), experience building multi-scenario financial models, familiarity with transaction-based or payment processing revenue models, experience with stock-based compensation accounting, or experience supporting audits or GAAP transition.
