What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, which includes financial modeling, valuation, and benchmarking, to accurately assess the financial health and long-term viability of distressed companies.
• Due Diligence: Perform extensive due diligence on companies and their operations, meticulously identifying potential risks and opportunities, and then prepare detailed reports for senior management and clients, outlining findings and strategic recommendations.
• Transaction Execution: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to execute a range of complex restructuring transactions, including refinancing, asset sales, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Client Materials: Prepare high-quality pitch books, confidential information memoranda, detailed financial models, and various other client-facing materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and professionalism in all documentation.
• Market Insights: Stay thoroughly informed about current market trends, relevant industry developments, and regulatory changes specifically related to restructuring and distressed situations, sharing crucial insights with the team to inform strategic decision-making.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required in Finance, Economics, Business, or a closely related field. Candidates should possess a solid foundational understanding of investment banking principles and practices.
• Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in investment banking, specifically within leveraged finance, M&A, restructuring, or other related financial advisory fields. Ideal candidates will have demonstrable exposure to distressed situations.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong financial modeling capabilities and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, comprehensive financial statements, and various valuation methodologies. Additionally, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical.
• Bonus: Knowledge and familiarity with various financial analysis tools and specialized software will be considered a distinct advantage for this role.
