• Mission: Lead and manage M&A transactions from origination to execution, serving as a primary client contact and coordinating internal and external parties.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Origination Support: Assist senior bankers in the identification and development of new M&A transaction opportunities.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients, ensuring smooth communication and managing expectations throughout the deal lifecycle.
• Transaction Leadership: Lead and manage all key aspects of the deal execution process, including the development of compelling marketing and execution materials, sophisticated financial projections, and in-depth valuation analyses.
• Team Oversight and Coordination: Coordinate and meticulously review the analytical work performed by junior bankers to ensure maximum impact and efficiency, and coordinate with internal product teams and external parties.
• Due Diligence and Risk Management: Oversee comprehensive due diligence processes, actively identifying, assessing, and managing potential risks associated with each transaction.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree (with an advanced degree preferred) in a relevant field, coupled with a deep understanding of M&A processes and capital markets products.
• Experience: Proven track record in originating, executing, and structuring public and private M&A transactions. This role specifically requires established experience in providing quantitative and analytical support for M&A deals and the current position of a Vice President in the M&A department of a bulge bracket investment bank or boutique advisory firm.
• Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in concisely communicating complex concepts and defending their validity. Proficiency in performing detailed financial modeling and valuation analyses, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), comparables analysis, precedent transactions, merger analysis, and Leveraged Buyout (LBO) models. Demonstrated capacity to build trusted relationships with clients and effectively present to internal and external constituents.
• Bonus: Possession of Series 79 and Series 63 licenses.
