Associate, Business Development | GE HealthCare

• Mission: This person identifies and executes mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, partnerships, and licensing transactions to accelerate GE HealthCare’s inorganic growth and strategic objectives.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution: Collaborate with business segment and regional deal teams in identifying and executing all Business Development transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, partnerships / alliances, and licensing.
• Process Management: Support and/or lead various phases of the transaction process, including market analyses, development and evaluation of inorganic strategies, drafting investment theses, target identification and screening, valuation modelling, due diligence, negotiation, and closing.
• Strategic Growth: Collaborate with assigned segment, function, and regional teams, performing gap analysis to the business unit portfolio, and helping to define strategic and tactical steps to best position the segment for accelerated growth.
• Stakeholder & Partner Alignment: Partner with Business Development leadership to manage communication and alignment with key internal stakeholders to support effective decision making and transaction approval processes, and also partner with external investment bankers, consultants, lawyers, and other third parties in transaction processes.
• Process Improvement & Insights: Own key tools, processes, and standard work for the Business Development team, leading initiatives to constantly improve their use and functionality, while also analyzing customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to understand the impact of business activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a technical field, indicating a strong foundation in relevant academic disciplines.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of two years of relevant experience within finance, strategic marketing, strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or a closely related field, coupled with proven aptitude in managing and prioritizing multiple projects.
• Skills: Exhibit strong quantitative analytical skills and practical experience with financial modeling and M&A. This includes the ability to understand business unit goals and identify inorganic opportunities that will help achieve those goals, while consistently accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions and communications.
• Bonus: Prior experience within the healthcare industry is preferred, along with the ability to work effectively within a matrix organizational environment and interact with executives at the most senior levels. Demonstrated experience analyzing and negotiating complex business transactions, including acquisition evaluation, modeling, and financial analysis, strong interpersonal skills, and an adaptable/flexible approach to change are also valued.
