Associate – TMT Corporate Coverage | BNP Paribas

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BNP Paribas, located in New York, NY. BNP Paribas is a global financial institution, committed to being “The Bank for a Changing World.” This role is crucial for advising and delivering comprehensive financial solutions to mid-to-mega cap, market-leading corporates within the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications sector across North America. • Mission: This role is responsible for supporting the origination and execution of investment banking transactions, delivering the bank’s full solutions to TMT sector clients.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft OS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Bloomberg, Customer Relationship Management (“CRM”) system

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Banking Transactions: Lead and support the execution and origination of investment banking transactions for TMT clients, including M&A, ECM, and Leveraged Finance.
• Financial Modeling & Analysis: Prepare and review complex financial models, including valuation and merger consequences analysis, contributing to deal pitches and idea generation.
• Sector Expertise & Content Creation: Maintain sectorial expertise, serve as an internal resource, develop product understanding, and own the pitch book process in coordination with product teams.
• Client Relationship Management: Work in close partnership with senior bankers to manage client relationships and deliverables, monitoring client developments and providing timely intelligence.
• Internal Process Ownership & Leadership: Take complete ownership of all internal processes relating to the client portfolio, including KYC, capital allocation, and annual reviews, while providing training and leadership to junior staff.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in Corporate or Investment Banking.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of knowledge in Americas markets, demonstrating the ability to work transversally across the organization.
• Skills: Strong modeling and valuation skills, credit skills, analytical skills, negotiation skills, and effective verbal/written communication.
• Bonus: Prior TMT sector experience is preferred, along with a proactive, self-motivated, organized, innovative, and problem-solving approach. Candidates are required to obtain FINRA Series 79 and 63 registrations within three months if not already licensed.
