• Mission: To support a large firm’s compliance and litigation needs by independently managing discovery, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining compliance systems.
What You’ll Actually Do
• [Discovery Management]: Organize all discovery materials and independently manage the entire discovery process, ensuring systematic arrangement and accessibility.
• [Legal Document Drafting]: Prepare and draft a variety of crucial legal documents, including motions and pleadings, for various legal proceedings.
• [Legal Research & Client Contact]: Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and serve as the primary contact point for clients, managing communications effectively.
• [Compliance System & Due Diligence]: Actively maintain and update compliance systems, and conduct thorough due diligence on third parties to assess risks and ensure adherence to standards.
• [Regulatory Filing Support]: Provide assistance with the preparation and submission of various regulatory filings and the comprehensive documentation associated with them.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess substantial paralegal experience, specifically gained within a large firm environment, indicating familiarity with complex legal structures and high-volume workloads.
• Experience: Proven litigation experience is essential, alongside the demonstrated ability to independently manage comprehensive discovery processes and prior experience in drafting diverse legal documents.
• Skills: Exhibit strong proficiency in conducting legal research, utilizing various databases and methodologies to gather necessary information.
• Bonus: Familiarity with specialized compliance systems and practical experience with regulatory filings would be advantageous for this role.
