Financial Analyst – AFT Budgeting | Georgia Power Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Georgia Power Company, located in Atlanta, GA, operating on a hybrid work schedule of four days in the office. This Financial Analyst role is crucial for supporting strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making, helping to shape the financial future of a leading energy provider.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide direction and training to internal teams for insights and influence on financial business decisions.
• Analyze financial risks and opportunities, developing insights to influence the organization’s business decisions.
• Develop 5-year budgets annually with the assistance of key stakeholders across the business unit.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations governing the business unit.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners to achieve organizational objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Basic understanding of GAAP and FASB.
• Experience: No specific years required, but a strong understanding of financial concepts and procedures.
• Skills: Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures, including a firm grasp of key financial concepts like Net income, EPS, cash flow analysis, and revenue requirements. Strength in communication and training for complex processes, coupled with creative analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent computer skills, especially with SmartView, Oracle Projects, Oracle Planning, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Bonus: Experience in Budgeting, Finance, Accounting, or similar. Familiarity with General Accounting Procedures and Corporate Guidelines. Flexibility for occasional travel and overnight stays for storm response logistics and other business needs, which may arise with limited advance notice. Ability to manage stress and balance multiple priorities while producing high-quality work under intense workloads.
