The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Eaton, located in El Paso, TX, within a manufacturing environment. This role is designed to provide motivated and detail-oriented students with educational and hands-on experience in key financial functions. As a Finance Intern, you will gain practical exposure by applying academic knowledge in a professional setting, supporting real-world financial processes. Your contributions will be vital in supporting field accounting, operations, and budget management within the team.

• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, basic Power Query, PivotTables, charts, ERP or finance systems (e.g., SAP)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Support budget review and analysis processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor: Assist with monthly “flash” reporting review and conduct variance analysis to track financial performance.
• Reconcile: Help track and monitor operational expenses and assist with field accounting activities, including data collection and reconciliation.
• Report: Support the preparation of essential financial reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and facilitate smooth data flow.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program focused on Finance or Accounting.
• Experience: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above, available to work at least 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and commit to a 6-month internship duration. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX site, and Eaton will not provide employment immigration sponsorship.
• Skills: Strong analytical and organizational abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, understanding of basic financial concepts, excellent attention to detail, effective time management, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Prior internship, co-op, or campus leadership experience in finance, accounting, supply chain, or operations; experience with data analysis and reporting tools like PivotTables, charts, or basic Power Query; familiarity with ERP or finance systems such as SAP, and concepts related to accounts payable, budgeting, or inventory finance.
