Financial Planning Analyst | RJ Schinner Co., Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office role at RJ Schinner Co., Inc., located in Menomonee Falls, WI. Celebrating 75 years in business, RJ Schinner operates 20 distribution centers with a team of over 600 people, supplying essential goods such as paper products, foodservice packaging, and cleaning supplies to distributors across 48 states. This Financial Planning Analyst position is vital for supporting the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making by providing actionable insights. The role drives business performance by partnering with various functional leaders and maintaining ownership of critical accounting functions, contributing to the company’s continued growth as a recognized successful private company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including detailed variance analyses, to produce comprehensive management reporting for business leaders.
• Strategic Planning: Support the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting activities, and long-range financial planning to guide future organizational growth and objectives.
• Performance Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models and conduct in-depth profitability analyses by customer, product category, vendor, and business segment to identify performance drivers.
• Core Accounting: Administer lease accounting, maintain accurate lease schedules, and manage fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related accounting processes.
• Month-End Close: Prepare precise journal entries, perform thorough account reconciliations, and provide supporting documentation as part of the month-end and year-end close processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A, including hands-on experience with fixed assets, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems, coupled with strong analytical and communication skills to translate financial data into business recommendations.
• Bonus: Active professional certification such as a CPA, CMA, FPAC, or CFA; an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA; or experience building dynamic financial dashboards using visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
