Financial Planning Analyst | RJ Schinner Co., Inc.

This is a full-time, in-office role at RJ Schinner Co., Inc., located in Menomonee Falls, WI. RJ Schinner is a family-owned business with over 70 years of history, operating 20 distribution centers across the U.S. and employing over 600 people to stock distributors in 48 states with essential paper goods, foodservice packaging, and cleaning supplies. This role is crucial in supporting the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and decision-making processes, directly contributing to business performance by providing actionable financial insights and maintaining key accounting functions. What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including variance analyses and management reporting for business leaders.
• Planning & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting activities, and long-range financial planning.
• Performance Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic and operational decision-making, including profitability analyses by customer, product, and segment.
• Accounting Operations: Own key accounting functions such as maintaining fixed asset records, administering lease accounting, and preparing journal entries for month-end close.
• Project Support: Conduct ad hoc analyses and special projects to support organizational objectives and assist with audit requests and internal control enhancements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A, including hands-on experience with fixed assets, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, experience with ERP systems, strong analytical capabilities, and effective communication skills.
• Bonus: An active professional certification such as a CPA, CMA, FPAC, or CFA; an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA; or experience building dynamic financial dashboards using visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
