Investment Banking M&A Vice President | Mizuho

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Greenhill, a part of Mizuho Americas, located in New York, NY. Greenhill provides M&A, restructuring, and private capital advisory capabilities across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This role is central to Greenhill’s M&A team, directly shaping strategic advisory mandates and executing complex transactions for clients. It involves deep involvement in financial analysis and client delivery to enhance the ultimate deliverable to our clients.

• Mission: Directly design, originate, structure, and execute mergers & acquisitions and other strategic advisory mandates for clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct extensive quantitative economic, industry, and company research and analysis.
• Modeling: Perform comprehensive financial modeling, valuation, and market-specific analyses including discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions, leveraged buyout, and merger combination models.
• Client Materials: Develop and prepare high-quality, accurate, and timely client presentations, pitch books, and detailed industry materials.
• Transaction Execution: Assist in the evaluation, due diligence, and execution of buy-side, sell-side, and other strategic advisory M&A transactions.
• Collaboration & Client Relationships: Facilitate idea generation and solutions development with relevant groups across Mizuho | Greenhill and assist in cultivating client relationships.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree or an MBA concentrating in Finance, demonstrating strong knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets, and risk & pricing analysis.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 6 years in investment banking, corporate finance, and M&A experience with a top-tier investment bank, or currently hold a Vice President (or equivalent) position at a top-tier investment bank with an MBA.
• Skills: Demonstrate proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, and hold Series 79 & 63 licenses.
• Bonus: Previous experience specifically in M&A Investment Banking is a strong plus.
