What You’ll Actually Do
• Advisory Services: Provide bespoke financial analysis services covering mergers and acquisitions, capital raising (debt and equity), takeover defense, restructuring, and general strategic advice to financial institution clients, specifically in the Insurance sector.
• Deal Execution Leadership: Lead deal execution processes, including preparing marketing materials, running due diligence, negotiating non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents, organizing and attending roadshow meetings, and liaising with other investment banks and internal teams.
• Financial Modeling & Analysis: Prepare and review proprietary financial models and analysis, including merger consequences, discounted cash flow and leveraged buyout valuations, and relative valuations based on comparable companies and precedent transactions within the Insurance sector.
• Client Presentation & Engagement: Present to insurance clients, including at the c-suite level, on topics such as strategic alternatives, industry updates, capital markets activities, restructuring alternatives, and corporate governance issues.
• Business Development & Deliverables: Drive analysis and deliverables that underpin the firm’s financial advisory services, and actively participate in business development processes, including attending formal client meetings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a related role with a Master’s degree, or three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role with a Bachelor’s degree. This experience must include building and reviewing multi-method valuation models, developing client-ready presentations and financial models using Microsoft Office applications, working with investment banking professionals on M&A, debt restructuring, and capital raising transactions, presenting to executives on financial analyses and valuation of insurance instruments, and analyzing financial statements of financial services companies and actuarial appraisals.
• Skills: Multi-method valuation modeling (traditional DCF, sensitivity analyses, Monte Carlo analyses), financial statement and actuarial appraisal analysis, financial modeling in Excel, presentation development in PowerPoint, M&A and capital raising transaction execution, and executive-level client presentation.
