Vice President – Investment Banking, Commercial Services | Guggenheim Securities

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Guggenheim Securities, located in Chicago, IL, with an expectation of at least four days per week in the office. Guggenheim Securities is the investment banking and capital markets business of Guggenheim Partners, a global investment and advisory firm. It offers services in advisory, financing, sales and trading, and research. This Vice President role is an integral part of the Commercial Services investment banking team, contributing to client relationships and transaction lifecycles, and is considered a critical career-track position for firm strategy and Associate development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Leadership: Lead day-to-day project management and oversee the execution of a diverse range of advisory transactions, ensuring timely and efficient progress.
• Strategic Analysis: Work with senior professionals to support comprehensive financial analyses and advisory transactions, highlighting key takeaways and contributing to strategic frameworks for business development.
• Market and Industry Expertise: Oversee the development of a strong working knowledge across multiple client sectors, monitoring key industry drivers and assembling insights to enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives.
• Transaction Documentation: Lead the development of relevant marketing memoranda, diligence exhibits, and other critical transaction artifacts, while reviewing diligence, research, and analysis for potential and live deals.
• Client Engagement and Mentorship: Actively participate in client meetings and drafting sessions, building relationships with client finance and accounting teams, and providing continuous “on the job” training and constructive feedback to junior teammates.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with a focus on Investment Banking and Commercial Services. Requires a senior professional with leadership capabilities.
• Experience: At least 7 years of experience, or an MBA with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in Investment Banking. Must include sell-side advisory experience with a successful track record of closed M&A transactions.
• Skills: Strong M&A process management, adept financial and data analysis, effective professional communication (verbal, written, and virtual), highly organized project management, and a deep understanding of accounting and finance principles.
